Magic of Music Needs YOU!
The Magic of Music Program has provided musical enrichment to Walteria’s students for the past twenty years. The TK/Kindergarten program introduces the children to the symphonic orchestra instruments, classical music and dance forms. The 1st through 5th grade program explores a wide range of music from classical and opera to jazz and folk.
We need docents and assistants (parents, grandparents, friends) to teach the lessons, and NO EXPERIENCE is necessary! You don’t need to know how to play an instrument, sing, or even know anything about music! You just have to be comfortable presenting a lesson to your child's class. Detailed lesson plans, materials, and training are provided. There are only 8 lessons (about one per month) for the whole school year. Classroom time is flexible and arranged with the teacher. You can even sign up with a friend and do the lessons together! Your child will love having you help in their classroom.
All volunteers MUST complete the TUSD volunteer clearance paperwork, which includes a TB risk assessment form AND either proof of COVID vaccination OR regular negative COVID test results. This is non-negotiable and must be completed prior to any classroom visits.
